Dyskusja:Wiola opolska
Pytanie do autora hasła: czy poprzednie, Viola z Bułgarii, było niedobre, nieprawidłowe, niesłuszne, brzydkie, (tu dalsze przymiotniki)? I kto wymyślił nowe nazwanie dla tej pani?

Hi, I would have guessed myself that "Viola z Bułgarii" might be a wrong spelling but tried (and found) links from articles written by Polish people. Also there was a quite convincing web-link available - [1]. I did not knew about "Wiola Opolska" otherwise I should have used that form. I have to point also that quick search in Google for "Wiola Opolska" returns just sites which replicate Wikipedia, i.e. there is no proof other than the link in the article - both names break even, 1:1.
Please have in mind that I've spent significant ammount of time attempting to write grammatically correct sentence even for such a short text as Polish is an unknown to me language. I well might have typos, grammatically incorrect sentences, or use less common name. It still ought to be easier to move the article instead of copy/paste my text, thus preserving the edit history (maybe not available to anonymous users). - Update: Equipped with year of death and correct spelling I was able to find numerous sources. Obviously she played noteworthy role in Polish history. Unfortunately I am not good in reading them, and cannot compile a good result. Hopefully someone will do, and I will be able to translate it later in Bulgarian. Skoro w oryginale to i tak jest Виола, to czy nie powinniśmy na polski transkrybować tego jako Wiola a nie Viola ? Viola to miejscowość a nie imię w języku polskim.

I understand that there are three links to this version, but it doesn't necessarily mean, this version is correct. First name Viola / Виола is generally translated as Wiola in Polish. I don't understand, why this princess should be an exception.
- I fully agree it has to be moved to "Wiola" + <something> despite not finding the "Wiola Opolska" combination. Maybe "Wiola (Opole)" or "Wiola (księżna)" but you can decide better than me (I cannot understand properly the difference between księżniczka and księżna). In the remarks above I pointed "why" the article was created with wrong spelling, and brought myself arguments why it should not remain that way. I still have minor objection against copy/paste to new article instead of moving this one (with verifyable contributions). In the original it is not Виола (Wiola) but Велеслава (Weleslawa). That's why Bulgarian article is using dual-name approach - Bulgarian and Polish. When the article was created the first source was pointing Венцислава (Wencislawa) but now given more authoritative sources Weleslawa look more precise and the initial name is in parentheses (I'll try to find more info and probably will rename the Bulgarian article). She got the name Wiola in Opole, and it would be interesting to know why.
- BTW: In Bulgarian bg:виола means en:Viola (a string instrument), and is not a short form of Виолета (Wioletta). The short form would be Вили (Willi) which might also refer to many other names. Greetings, Zlatko + (dyskusja) 17:19, 7 maja 2006 (CEST)
